Project Objectives Using Reinforced Concrete Roll®

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Stuckey's, LLC chose to utilize ITL RCR-7® for their latest culvert repair. The alternatives: traditional concrete, pipe replacement or composite lining, were ruled out in favor of Reinforced Concrete Roll® as a less disruptive and time consuming solution.

PROJECT GOAL

Rehabilitate culvert pipe with a time and cost-effective solution for better performance exiting into high-flow channels.

RCR® AS A SOLUTION TO

  • Save time and labor costs.
  • Disruption and loss of access for an extended period of time.
  • Long-term and repeated repair costs.
  • Extend lifespan of pipe without replacement.

RCR® For A Less Disruptive Culvert Remediation

The total application of this culvert was 75' long and 8' wide, covering the bottom and sides of the 72" pipe up to the waterline. The contractor cut 8'x16' strips of RCR-7® at their shop before the installation and transported them to the project site.

Pre-cutting the material made it easy to maneuver pieces in and out of the culvert without using heavy equipment. The RCR-7® was then secured using Sikaflex, 1" self-tapping screws, and aluminum baton strips at the beginning and termination of the box culvert.

Stuckey's, LLC, was able to perform the installation with clear and concise information from Inland Tarp & LIner's product representatives. With oversight from ITL onsite personnel, Stuckey's five-person crew completed this application faster than originally anticipated, yielding additional savings for the end client without decreasing effectiveness.
