ITL fabricates Insulated Floating Covers in both standard and custom panels for square, rectangle, and circular impoundments, as well as for tanks and in-ground ponds and pits. With proper handling and storage, these covers should have a three to five-year life expectancy.
Floating Cover Specifications
Insulated Floating Cover panels are encapsulated with ITL 24 mil CWPE, and the design includes grommets for connecting panels with zip ties for rapid deployment.
Use an Insulated Floating Cover when you need to:
- Retain heat, and reduce water freezing
- Reduce heating costs
- Reduce evaporation
- Manage Odor/ Odor Control
- Consider an alternative to bird netting
Permanent Floating Covers can be custom fabricated for your specific pond, lagoon, or tank size and shape. Our product design includes a series of floats that provide pathways for gas to flow beneath the floating cover, to the perimeter collection pipe, and onto a single collection point. The lateral floats keep the entire cover floating on the water’s surface, thus eliminating cover inflation and exposure to wind damage.
Floating covers that require inflation (without lateral floats), expose the geomembrane to wind vibrations, which significantly reduces the life span of the material.
Ballast weights placed on top of the floating cover channel rainwater and snow melt to sumps, which remove all rainwater from the surface of the floating cover.
All factors are taken into consideration before the design and production of your floating cover to make sure you have the best solution for your specific application.
